Achievements

Health and Life International started as a Mission Outfit to the remote areas in Niger Republic and Jamaica between 1995 - 1998 as a medical arm of “Embracing the Nations Ministries (ENM)” meeting the Health needs of the rural dwellers.
  • 1999 – 2002, the Medical Outreach arm of ENM was named “The Healthy Woman”. This was designed to meet the health needs of the less privileged women in the rural areas, who do not have access to medical facilities as a result of ignorance, financial constraints and difficult terrain.
  • The Healthy Woman’s project was carried out in many remote/rural communities of Delta, Rivers and Lagos States. From the extensive work done in all of The Healthy Woman’s outreaches, it became apparent that these health issues bothered not only on the women but also on the men, children and youths. Consequently, “The Healthy Woman” metamorphosed into “Health and Life International (HEALIN)”.
Previous & ongoing projects:
  • Our free medical outreach activity was first organized in November 2001 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. About 3000 individuals including teenagers, men and women who came in busloads from nearby communities, attended.
  • In 2002, an outreach was also held in Isoko in Delta State, and we have since organized many other successful outreaches in different communities within the Niger Delta area.
  • We are presently working in collaboration with Bayelsa State Ministry of Health to contribute to the improvement of the health system through our Health Education Scheme and Mobile Clinics. Our Health outreach concluded in Polokuma/Opokuma L.G.A was a huge success as over 3,500 adults received Health Education and Outpatient treatments.
    • Another medical outreach took place in January, 2004 and we subsequently launched another successful outreach in Rumuobiakani communities, in Obio/Akpor LGA, Rivers State in December, 2006. Just as in the preceding outreach about 2000 individuals received Health education and on-the-spot diagnosis and treatment from our Medical experts. And over a hundred received HIV screening.
  • HEALIN also collaborates with UNICEF presently on aggressive HIV/AIDS campaigns and PMTCT (Prevention of Mother To Child Transmission) related services.
  • NOTE: HEALIN has organized and carried out this type of Medical/Health outreaches in Port Harcourt, Opobo and Omoku areas of Rivers State in 2001. At least 3000 individuals including children, youths, men and women who came in busloads from nearby villages were in attendance and received treatments in each of the outreaches, attended. In 2002, the project was also held in Warri, Isoko/Ukwuani areas in Delta State, besides other successful outreaches carried out by HEALIN in many other communities within the Niger Delta area.
  • Several outreaches have also been carried out in Bayelsa State in collaboration with Bayelsa State Ministry of Health to contribute to the State’s improving Health Systems through our Health education and Mobile Consultation Clinics. One of such outreaches was carried out in Polokuma/Opokuma L.G.A and was a huge success as over 3,500 adults received Health Education and outpatient treatments.
